The Crownless King
Releases: September 4th, 2020

The voices are only growing louder...
War is brewing and the kingdom of Sindaleer is torn as the Knights of Norcir draw the folk to their side. When Sabriel, a specially Gifted and Marked, pledges her life and blood to their cause, she is ready to give all to bring the peace her leader Tirich promises. She can understand Tirich's deep hatred for King Milosh, and as a trained warrior has prepared for this moment nearly all her life.
But when her identity as a Knight is discovered by her childhood friend who abandoned her years ago, all her plans come toppling down.
Enemies connected by their past, voices in her head that are only growing louder, and loyalties torn between what looks right and what is not as it seems, the concluding book to The Broken Prince is about the inner wars we all face and loyalty no matter the cost.

The blurb is a rough draft with a more refined one to come. I threw it together last night as I'm crunching down on the edits of my first draft.
I chose September 4th for a variety of reasons -- one that it falls only days before Suicide Prevention Week 2020. The novel is themed around the voices in our heads, the ones we battle each day, and how the choices we make can define us for years to come.
Ironically as I have begun edits on The Crownless King, I am overcome by an often paralyzing fear.
I am not good enough.
I wrote on this earlier but it's true. I don't make beautiful collages or am perfectly planned out. I don't always post beautiful posts on insta or keep up this blog as I would like. However I have to realize this is me writing, and I don't have to be you or anyone else.
I am often scatterbrained and feel at times very ADD. I cannot sit down and write thousands of words at a time and can barely get by with editing a chapter before I have to get up lest I jump out a window from sitting two hours straight.
This is me.
It's not the best version of me but it's me just the same.
I realize that The Broken Prince was far from perfect. Several reviews and my street team kindly pointed out typos in the published words. *Face palm* The story could have also been more flushed off, better planned, the marketing handled better.....etc, etc, etc.
I had a brilliant editor who carefully helped me with my baby but honestly I didn't look over it in the final edits as I should have. I felt rushed and stressed and just published it anyway. It was my first novel I wrote when I was 16 -- I'm learning from these mistakes and that's what matters.
So I chose September 4th also because it gives me time to edit as much as I need, get my editor, do my cover, all in due time when I can do it. I have to let go of human expectation or even my own...and just write. I have to be like Sabriel and let go of the voices. I WANTED to publish The Crowness King ASAP. I wanted to have it down this summer, to have it in my hands and on my shelf of accomplishments before I turned 22.
But life rarely goes how we desire.
And in saying that...

I am looking for street team members to join me in my journey to this publication. Nothing is required of you except joining me. My street team was beyond fantastic for The Broken Prince and I cannot wait to have you join me on my adventure!
You will have the chance to read The Crownless King before anyone else, help with my cover reveal, and other special goodies. I will also keep you updated with monthly e-mails prior to release and keep you up on what's happening. It's a long road ahead, eights months to be exact.
Please comment your e-mail (e-mail will NOT be shared) and I will add you to the list.

ALSO I've wanted to do this for forever: Comment below in a separate comment with someone who has helped you and how:that bosom friend, John to your Sherlock, who has helped you defeat the voices in your head. If you do you will get a chance to play a cameo role in my novel. How sweet is that?!!!!!!! Winner will be announced here on the blog and my socials sometime next month!

So details summed up....
Release date: September 4th 2020
Street team: In a separate comment hit me up with your e-mail (the comment will not be published)
Contest: In ANOTHER comment let me know who has helped you with the voices in your head and possibly play a cameo role in my novel

  1. My dear friend Hahnna has honestly been a gift from God and helps so much to direct me to His truth when I’m believing lies! We have the kind of friendship where you can be super honest with each other, and she will straight up tell me if something I believe about myself or my worth is a lie. She’s also encouraging, and it means even more knowing she’s an honest person.

I’m honestly really blessed to have a few close friends who will remind me what God thinks. I’m so thankful to call you friend, Kara. It’s so awesome knowing I can share what I’m going through with you and that you will pray for and encourage me. I’m so proud of you in so many ways, and I can’t wait to read your new book. Thank you for being a friend that speaks truth into my life. I love you!
